Handcrafted breads, seasonal pastries, and carefully sourced pantry goods — made daily in the heart of Montrose with ingredients we trust and recipes we've refined over decades.
Rose Cottage began as a quiet conviction: that the best food doesn't need to be complicated — it needs to be honest. We started in 1997 with a small kitchen, a wood-fired oven, and a counter full of sourdough loaves that drew people from three towns over.
Today, we're still baking by hand, still sourcing from farms we know by name, and still believing that a proper loaf of bread can be the simplest, most generous thing you serve. Our grocery shelves carry the same philosophy — every item chosen for quality, provenance, and the stories behind it.

Every item is made in small batches, fresh each morning. What you see is what we have — and it changes with the season.
48-hour fermented, wood-fired loaves with a deep, tangy crust and an open, tender crumb. Our signature starter has been alive since day one.
Flaky croissants, fruit galettes, and hand-rolled danishes made with local butter. Rotating with what the season gives us — always honest, always fresh.
Small-batch preserves, cold-pressed oils, aged cheeses, and specialty grains — each one selected for the quality and the people who made it.
"Good food is an act of care. We bake the way we'd want to be fed — slowly, honestly, and with nothing wasted."
Everything we do is guided by a simple standard: would we serve this to our own family? If the answer isn't an unequivocal yes, it doesn't leave our kitchen or sit on our shelves.
We partner with twelve farms within thirty miles. Our flour, dairy, fruits, and eggs come from people we shake hands with every week.
Our bread ferments for days, not hours. We refuse to rush the process because time is the one ingredient no shortcut can replace.
Every loaf, every preserve, every selection on our shelves carries the same standard: made the way it should be, not the way it's easiest.
